After discovering that pioneer John West did not have a headstone on his grave (thank you Bob Hartman), I started a Go-Fund-Me campaign to install one. I was confident we’d raise more money than needed for the monument, so I told contributors that any additional money would go to Idaho’s Black History Museum. In just three days, we raised enough to buy the marker and raised more than $3,000 for the museum. To read the story of John West, click here. The new headstone for John West.
